The idea of the build is to front-load as much power early through multi-classing. In a game dominated by swords and spellslingers, it only makes sense that the steampunk setting has a class that mixes magic and technology. The newest one feels like they are actually trying & I really like the Artillerist, my only question is what is the best way to build one? By level 5, the Artificer with a firebolt cantrip is doing 2 attacks, one for 2d8(9) and another for 2d10+1d8(15.5).
